Welcome!

I’m guessing you landed here because you were looking to eat healthier, live better, or it was a complete and total accident… or was it an accident (she says as X-Files music starts up in the background)? Whatever the reason, all I can say is Welcome!

A lot is going on here, so let me take a moment and introduce you to Nutrichologist.
(Cool name? If you want to know more about what it means and how it came about, read this).

My ultimate mission with Nutrichologist is to uncomplicate healthy living, eating, and thinking. It isn’t as complicated (or expensive) as you might think. So how do I go about doing this?

Blogs > The blogs focus on understanding single concepts like an ingredient, a nutrient, or a life principle. It’s also a space where I introduce subjects that sometimes need a little thought, no action or learning required, just a moment of your time.

Recipes > The recipes are plant-based and use health-promoting ingredients. Where possible, variations and substitutions are listed to accommodate various dietary needs.

Nutrimentals > Nutrimental (n) from Latin word nutrimentum, a source of nourishment, food, an agent that promotes growth or development. Nutrimentals is the education component. You will find live and online classes, as well as valuable resources on this page.

Free Stuff> Well, it’s called free in internet-speak, but in truth, there is an exchange. For the cost of your email address and subscription, you get free resources (including workbooks, fun digital downloads, recipe books) and more.

Subscription > Besides getting access to the totally cool Free Stuff, I also send you updates on anything new (like blogs, recipes, events, classes etc.). In addition, I share my personal story and why I decided to start Nutrichologist and a personal note now and then. It will be things related to Nutrichologist that might be of value to you. Nothing spammy, I promise! If you don’t think it’s adding value, you are welcome to unsubscribe – no hard feelings.

WAIT! Before all of you take your clothes off and go running into nature... and get arrested, forest bathing is done with clothes on.⁠

Research has shown that forest bathing or nature therapy benefits our nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory and digestive systems. It can even help alleviate Computer Vision Syndrome.⁠

Essentially it's about being present and setting aside distractions and goals. So avoid using electronic devices, and don't get wrapped up in counting steps or making it about fitness. Instead, just get into nature and allow yourself to absorb it all in.⁠

Meal prep is a weekly occurrence in my home. Satur Meal prep is a weekly occurrence in my home. Saturday morning John and I will go out to a farmers market or our favourite coffee shop. Discuss the coming week and what we would like to eat that would best support our week and goals.⁠

I put a plan together (I plan by ingredients, not recipes) and then we do the shopping. Sunday is prepping ingredients for the week and sorting out the fridge and shelves.⁠

We can do a few small things to help minimise some of that stress, and it starts way before you even get to the shops.⁠
